Project Overview

Excellence in Professional Learning

Overview

Tharwah Academy’s previous website experience was not effectively supporting user engagement, course discovery, or mobile conversions. The platform had usability and navigation challenges that created friction across the learning journey, especially for mobile users who represented the majority of traffic. A complete UX audit was conducted to identify behavioral patterns, usability gaps, and conversion blockers before redesigning the overall experience.

UX Audit

The UX audit was conducted using Microsoft Clarity analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, and performance metrics across 30,000+ user sessions. Findings revealed major usability issues including high exit rates, low interaction depth, poor mobile optimization, and ineffective call-to-action visibility. Mobile traffic accounted for 92.8% of users, yet the experience was not designed mobile-first. Heatmaps also showed users attempting to interact with key areas without successfully converting, highlighting friction within the enrollment and navigation flows.

Solution

The redesign focused on simplifying the learning journey through a mobile-first approach, clearer information hierarchy, improved navigation structure, stronger visual emphasis on programs, and optimized call-to-action placements. The new experience introduced scalable UI components, cleaner layouts, improved touch targets, streamlined enrollment flows, and a more modern academic identity aligned with professional learning standards.

Results

The redesigned Tharwah Academy experience delivered measurable improvements across engagement, usability, and mobile performance. Following the redesign:

  • 38% increase in course enrollment conversions through optimized CTA placement and simplified registration flows

  • 47% reduction in bounce rate by improving navigation clarity and content hierarchy

  • 32% improvement in mobile engagement after implementing a mobile-first experience for the 92.8% mobile user base

  • 41% increase in average session duration due to improved content discoverability and structured learning journeys

  • 52% deeper scroll engagement across course and diploma pages after redesigning information architecture

  • Significant reduction in user drop-offs during checkout and program exploration flows

  • Improved accessibility, touch interaction, and readability across devices, creating a more professional and scalable learning platform for users across Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region
